The View from Down Under
Half Moon lies imbedded in white sand on a shallow shoal off Key Biscayne, listing slightly to port, bow pointing southward. No traces of her masts are left and the starboard side has been broken outward, probably the result of a larger vessel colliding with the wreck. The yacht's internal framing is readily apparent, as are the forward anchor chain fittings and the bowsprit collar. The shipwreck is home to many species of tropical marine life, including fish, invertebrates, sponges, and corals. Please visit this preserve with care and respect.
